The ITFSP will develop information to help it evolve its own strategies and work plan. It will make this information and analysis available as a resource to governments and policy and programme managers
The essential approach is to map global policy development activity and to identify the opportunity for more international co-operation and for adopting best practice.
Mapped policy development activities include:
- Metrics: test methodologies and indicators for measuring environmental and energy efficiency performance
- Labelling and other forms of product information
- Standards: performance requirements and other criteria used in policy instruments
The information is assembled as follows:
- Mechanisms and networks active in sustainable development and working to achieve closer international co-operation.
