Site audience and purpose
This site is intended to cover the information needs of different potential audiences, however the primary audience is intended to be organizations and people working on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and related issues: government policy makers, government agencies, government advisers and associated professionals, academics and researchers, manufacturers and consumer representatives of products that are the focus of ITFSP work. It is structured to present simple information first, with an indication of more detail further into the site.

As an aid to finding the information you want, we have provided a site map and search engine 
Searching
You can search the text files on the ITFSP website by using the Search engine located at the top right hand side of each page. Please enter the word or words to look for in the box, then start the search by pressing the icon 
There is also an Advanced Search feature that allows for the following approaches to searching:
- Using logic operators
- Phrase Matching
- Wild Card Searches
- Using the Thesaurus
- Interpreting Results

Remember that there are many synonyms for the terms used in this service. For example, you might find more information if you searched for UN or United Nations or other programme specific acronyms, such as UNDP .
Page layout - finding your way around; printing
Pages on this site have been designed to be compatible on a variety of browsers and platforms. They are designed to display best with your monitor set at a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (or higher).
On each page you can see which subject area of the site you are in by looking at the main heading in maroon (the site's major subject areas are listed on the tabs displayed across the top of the screen). Immediately below this heading you will find a number a drop down list of links to key pages with supplementary information related to the main topic. If this feature is disabled by the users system for security reasons, alternative navigation to these dropdown pages is available .
Downloading files or documents
In the case of relatively large files, or files that you need to work with (such as Word or Excel documents, or interactive .PDF forms), you are advised to save the file directly onto your own computer rather than opening it via your web browser. On a PC, and using the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser right-click on the link, select "Save Target As", and choose a suitable location on your PC; using the Netscape web browser right-click on the link and choose "Save Link As". |
